Does what we talk about remain confidential ?

Absolutely.

Confidentiality is essential to the counselling relationship, providing you a safe place to work through personal issues.

Your right to confidentiality will be carefully maintained and will not be disclosed without your written permission, except in cases of possible harm to yourself or others, or a criminal court subpoena.

Any notes I generate regarding our discussions, along with your contact details, are stored in a locked cabinet in my locked office.

Furthermore, since Maleny is a small town and the chances of me seeing you down the street or in a local store are relatively high, I will not say ‘hello’ to you or acknowledge you, in public unless you choose to greet me first.

This will also maintain your privacy.
